Chivas History(Historia)

English Translation:

The origins of Guadalajara back in the early twentieth century. In 1906 he met a group of friends in one of the most important stores of the West Pearl called, curiously, “Mexico City”: The employees formed a football team sponsored by the owners of the shop, led by Belgian-born Edgar Everaert of Bruges together with Mexican-know, Belgian and French.

He led the brothers Rafael and Gregory Orozco and Edgar Everaert own to found the Union Football Club, two years later, would change the name to Guadalajara.

Union, more than one name, was the symbol that served to underline the friendship and fellowship of young Mexicans, Belgians and French, which began in the group.

By the time amateur - or romantic, there were some foreign players in the team, since, in addition to French and Belgian incorporated some English and Spanish. However, the Union first team was made up of other founders and Calixto Gas, Max Woong, Bonmarck, Ernesto Caire, Stephen and Pancho Palomera, Alfonso Cervantes, Ramon Gomez, Augusto and Callisto Teissier and some others whose names have been lost in history. The color of the uniform was all white.

Of course we had to overcome, successfully, the problems encountered on the fly, as it was getting a ball-straight from England, and assimilate the rules of the game, although I had to do without a good time, the necessary outfit of football such as proper shoes, shin guards, etc. They played with ordinary shoes.Furthermore, given the task of getting a computer opponent who was interested in football and understand the rules. They were just young people playing baseball in the same colony grounds Moderna, which decided to form another football team and start the historical era of football in Jalisco, the same happened to a Western Athletic gym equipment also entered the “challenges “and it was with this team and the union that they played the first formal meeting in Guadalajara, who won the pupils of Don Rafael Orozco.

THE UNIFORM

In 1908-1911 Don Rafael Orozco was the first president of the club, and accounted for the name change during his tenure, Guadalajara binding. Supporting another suggestion that Mr. Edgar Everaert historical results. Simply, because in Europe it was customary for teams that were named after the city in which they were, gave them popularity, sympathy, and many supporters. It was then, with the name “Guadalajara” was adopted uniform with red and white for the “Jersey” as they called it then the shirt, with blue shorts, a proposal from Don Edgar and as a memento of the club Brujéense sports, as champion of Belgium, using the same colors on their uniform.

LAS CHIVAS, NAME

The gradual transformation of Guadalajara gained momentum since the birth of the goats; nickname currently serves as the team mascot and a symbol representing the sentiment of his many fans around the country and even those living abroad. What at first was a mockery of the red and black bitter rivals, taking advantage of an eight-column head which was published in the journal Guadalajara “The Informant”, ended up being an emblem of good luck and to the cry of war in the stadiums Atletico players encourage and stimulate the atmosphere in the stands.

The origin of the nickname dates back to the 1948-49 season, when the day was played in February, a Thursday September 30, 1948, at Golden Park in the Pearl of the West, between Guadalajara and Tampico. The chronicle of that game was published on page 7 with this header to eight columns: PLAYED THE RACE AND WON THE “CHIVAS” one to zero . That was the title he came up with the head of the sports page, Reinaldo Martin del Campo, alias “score,” supported the party had been very bad and some fans, stamped red and black, mocked the rojiblancos screaming that “seemed chivas Brincon.” The charge of writing the chronicle was Manuel Gómez Gutiérrez “Magog”, who at all points to what he wrote his boss in the head.

History Amateur

With the name of Guadalajara, since 1908, participated in tournaments against teams from the city and formed as Western Athletic, Excelsior, Men’s Lyceum, Cuauhtemoc and Iturbide, the majority composed of seminarians who helped overcome the difficulties of that time, such as looking for land and condition to play football, explain deeply the rules to the players and ball manufacturing apply to specialized talabartalero that time Jesus Iñiguez. It was so they could become the first League Cup Tapatia in 1908 and whose president was Don Rafael Orozco, Secretary Alberto de la Mora and Treasurer Don Agustín Arce.

Based on its better organization, enthusiasm and having in its ranks the most skilled, Guadalajara beat their best football and won the first titles: 1908-1909 and 1909-1910, and as a tribute to those early champions remember them: Edgar Everaert, Alfonso Cervantes, Joaquin Nieto, Miguel Murillo, Gregory Orozco, Eugenio Cherpenel, Calixto Gas, Agustín Arce, Carlos Luna, Adolfo Orozco, Orozco Zenén, Max Woog and Rafael H. Orozco.

The Revolution dwindled a little excitement, as many of the plains where they played soccer had become battlegrounds. However, the game had to go and Guadalajara changed their fields of practice, for several years, to where he is currently “circle French” and then called him “the foundations fields girls.”

Against all odds I played Champions League 1910-1911 and seminarians were the Lyceum Club, who had become true opponents of the striped red and white, although these, in turn, regained the title the following year, it was precisely the Policy transition year; Since Don Rafael H. Orozco would leave the presidency to his brother Gregory, for a period of two years. It speaks of two founding members of the club Guadalajara who fought in the toughest times, both by the damage that caused the revolution, as by the lack of young people playing football. It was the time when the Guadalajara played in the park of the brewery “The Star”

Owes much football as Don Gregorio Jalisco Orozco, for his tenacity and passion, for his perseverance to keep the league and because, at least two more years, it developed the football championship, in the absence of courts and many difficulties that arose on all sides.

The amateur era was undoubtedly very bright for Guadalajara, and he got accumulate twelve titles in football of the first order of Jalisco, for eight of the National Atlas and five, to name the most outstanding, from 1908 to 1943.

The Evolution of Guadalajara football was so important, that back in 1926 it was proposed to form a selection Jalisco to be a worthy representative of the city, based on the best elements of Guadalajara, Atlas, National, Morelos, and Gold With healthy and profitable intent waving one flag: The blue and gold of the Jalisco selection over time, helped greatly to major league at that time became great. He stated in that form the platform that football required Jalisco, the foundation whose representation Guadalajara fans motivate and induce self-improvement.

We can ensure that those leading figures in the selection manager Jose “Pelon” Gutierrez, Faust and Max Prieto, Reyes “sterile” Sanchez, Luis Reyes, Teofilo “Tilo” Garcia, Victoriano “Zarco” Vazquez, Paul “Pablotas” Gonzalez, Manuel “things” Wintilio Lopez Lozano, were the seeds that gave birth to the integration of Guadalajara in the Mexican professional soccer season, was also a solid foundation that would rock crowds Guadalajara team that made history for his many titles conquered into what is now a social phenomenon.

EL CAMPEONÍSIMO / THE GREAT CHAMPION

To achieve a significant event, and the admirable enthusiasm in the minds of fans, Chivas had to battle hard for five seasons from 1951-52 to 1955-56, -, an era in which the enemies of free Chivas, they awarded the nickname of “and merit.” An oft-repeated sneer that seemed a ghost trying to prevent the Guadalajara achieve the coveted title and the satisfaction of millions of fans.

After this reflection time in professional football in Mexico, it is clear that the various events that occur are circumstances which holds the fate of each team and its players, who take on different meanings of events according to the importance that they want to . Because that “it was the merit and” the goats, may have been necessary, but not fatal, because over time that was necessary was all that he gave at that stage that it was necessary to achieve an end, now if that the sequence of league titles, Mexico Cup, Champion of Champions, Cup of Gold West International and pentagonal CONCACAF Champions favored to win the freehand Guadalajara earned the nickname “great champion”.

Great champion was the name given to the team that represented Chivas at this stage of history, as the feat achieved by this group of players is unmatched today as they won eight league titles, two cups Mexico, 7 Champion of Champions , 4 cup Golden West, 3 International pentagonal, 3 CONCACAF Champions tournament in Guadalajara, to add 28, taking as technical champions Donald Ross, Arpad Fekete, Javier de la Torre and Jesus “Chuco” Ponce.

It acknowledges the participation and collaboration of all players from Chivas 50’sy the late 60’s, who were those who made possible the glories achieved and those who forged the team that won everything, but highlights those that are considered campeonísimos and are players who participated in four tournaments or more of the eight achieved, then the elements that comply with the principle:

Chivas Crest

Researched and interviewed all over the oldest rojiblancos and their descendants, on the shield design that prevails to date, the conclusion was that between Joseph Fernando “Tata” Espinoza, Angel Bolumar, Ramon J. Fregoso and Everardo Espinoza, set out to design the shield. Some drawings, traced and delineated other, but all ran on the characteristics that it should have.

And what better idea to include the iconic coat of arms of the city of Guadalajara, as red and white shield main crest. The circular design with the name of Club Deportivo Guadalajara includes at its core, red and white stripes, highlighting predominantly the arms of the city of Guadalajara, the interpretation heraldry has many meanings: “The wings symbolize the banner or script of the undefeated leader in fighting . The spear, the strength wisely. The border was granted as a badge of courage. symbolizes a spirit generous lion warrior, adorned with the qualities of surveillance, control, sovereignty, majesty and courage. The pine was used as a symbol of perseverance. “ All styling is complemented by the old lambrequins, without losing its meaning, from the middle of the shield to the helmet.

The eleven stars around the shield, symbolize the championships earned by Chivas in the first division professional league.
